Drift-focused progressive spring set

The Yokomo YOKD171BL pair is designed for 1/10 drift RC cars and provides tunable suspension response for sliding setups. These soft blue springs feature a progressive 1.1 x 10.5 turns winding and are sold as a two-piece set for installation on compatible shock assemblies.

Performance note: the progressive winding changes spring rate as it compresses, giving a compliant initial feel that firms with greater deflection to help manage weight transfer and lateral grip during controlled drifts. Adjust front to rear spring allocation to refine understeer or oversteer tendencies and to control how the car settles after a slide.

Installation tips: confirm compatibility with your shock shaft and spring cup sizes, use the correct collars or preload spacers when compressing the spring, and avoid pressing springs onto shafts that are too small. Make changes in small steps and test progressively to isolate effects.

Tuning suggestion: pair these springs with consistent damper settings and tyre selection, note each change in a setup log, and return to baseline if results are unclear. Intended for RC drift practice and competition use only.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Measure your shock shaft diameter and spring cup inner size, then compare to the spring internal diameter; do a dry test fit to ensure proper seating without force.
Use matching collars or a spring compressor, control preload slowly, and ensure the spring is aligned on the shaft to avoid binding or damage.
Often yes; because progressive springs alter mid-stroke response, retune damper valving or oil weight to maintain consistent bump control and body motion.
