This is a 1/12 scale plastic assembly model of the 1974 McLaren M23, supplied for display builds that demand careful assembly and a high level of finish.
The M23 was introduced in 1973 to replace the M19 and remained competitive through the mid 1970s, carrying on development into later seasons. It recorded strong results in 1974 and was campaigned by several prominent drivers of the period, demonstrating a balanced approach to aerodynamics and mechanical design.
The model recreates the M23 bodylines and features removable front cowling, cockpit fairing and induction box so you can stage the build and access internal sections. A functional steering linkage links the wheel to the front wheels to show steering movement once built.
Engine detail includes a modelled Ford-Cosworth DFV V8 with fuel pipes and ignition leads. Suspensions at the front and rear are assembled with movable parts and coil springs to mirror the original geometry.
Fine detailing is enhanced by photo-etched parts for brake discs and cockpit fittings, while seatbelt locations are finished with cloth-effect decals and metal buckles. The kit supplies decals for two race numbers and synthetic rubber slick tyres for period authenticity. Painting and basic modelling tools are required.
An accurate 1/12 representation of the 1974 McLaren M23, offering thorough engine, cockpit and suspension detail for modellers seeking historical fidelity.
