This 1/12 scale plastic assembly kit recreates the Ducati Desmosedici with a focus on engine and frame detail, intended for builders who want a display-ready miniature representation of the V4 layout and truss-frame.
Ducati developed the Desmosedici as a compact V4 formed from two 90 degree L-twin banks in a shared crankcase. Launched in 2003, the design couples a 16-valve V4 with a tubular steel truss-frame and an engine-mounted swingarm pivot. Riders such as Loris Capirossi and Troy Bayliss campaigned early versions, achieving competitive showings at venues including Suzuka and Catalunya in 2003.
The kit concentrates on visible mechanical fidelity and surface realism. Injection-molded parts depict the truss-frame and V4 layout, while the rear suspension mount follows the engine-attached swingarm concept. Control lines are simulated with plastic tubing and the tyres are synthetic rubber formed as slicks. Side and seat cowlings remove after assembly to expose the engine area for display. Two race liveries are supplied via Cartograf decals for No.65 and No.12. Note that certain white sponsor marking decals are intentionally excluded.
Designed for collectors and modellers who prioritise accurate external engineering and visible engine detail in 1/12 scale.
