Overview of the Tamiya 14104 YZR-M1 U.S. Inter-coloring 1/12 kit

This assembly model kit is a 1/12 scale replica of the 2005 Yamaha YZR-M1 U.S. Inter-coloring edition, produced to mirror the race livery and prominent chassis features from that season.

The YZR-M1 was Yamaha's key four-stroke racing motorcycle during the mid-2000s, developed through ongoing engineering for grand prix competition. The U.S. Inter-coloring finish is derived from Yamaha International Corporation branding and was featured on a special-edition YZR-M1 at the 2005 U.S. Grand Prix.

The kit reproduces the 2005 machine's visual cues and selected mechanical components. It employs three new molds to form the in-line four-cylinder engine, main frame, and rear shock, as well as the 2005-specific cowling outlines. After assembly, side and seat cowling panels can be removed to expose internal assemblies. The tyres are realistic synthetic rubber with Michelin logos. Included are vibrant decals for the yellow and black inter-coloring scheme and vinyl tubing for brake and throttle lines. The decal set corresponds to bike No.5 ridden by Colin Edwards at the U.S. event.
