120NC carburetor body for service and repair

The YS Engine YSF1952 carburetor body is supplied as an RC spare designed to replace worn units in the 120NC glow engine family. It forms the fuel metering housing and throttle linkage interface and is provided as a single replacement body to recover proper carburetor assembly when the original is compromised.

The body positions the needle valves, throttle shaft, and inlet passages that control air and fuel delivery. Replacement is commonly performed after extensive running or when inlet wear, damaged threads, or machining defects affect mixture control and idle stability. During service, keep the mating faces and O-ring grooves free of debris and ensure throttle shaft bearings move freely to prevent leaks and poor throttle response.

Installation guidance: detach the carburetor from the engine mount and record needle and throttle settings before disassembly. Transfer needles, throttle shaft, springs, small bearings and seals from the old body into the YSF1952, then reassemble and bench-test for smooth operation and proper needle seating ahead of reinstallation.

On tuning: fitting a new body does not itself change jetting, but a degraded body can cause inconsistent mixture. Installing a correct YSF1952 body gives a consistent baseline for fine needle adjustments and repeatable engine behavior.

In short, the YSF1952 serves as a reliable replacement to restore carburetor integrity on 120NC engines and to aid accurate tuning work.

Look for signs such as distorted inlet passages, stripped threads, visible machining marks where seals sit, or persistent mixture instability. Any of these indicate the body may need swapping to restore reliable fuel delivery.
The YSF1952 replaces the worn housing, but longevity depends on careful assembly, clean fuel, and avoiding overtightening of fasteners that can damage threads or sealing faces.
If mounting threads are stripped, address the threads before fitting the new body. Use correct-size helicoils or inserts if necessary, then mount the YSF1952 with proper torque to avoid recurring damage.
Inspect inlet bores, O-ring grooves, and throttle bore for burrs or machining residue. Ensure the throttle shaft fits smoothly and that thread holes are clean before transferring internals and completing assembly.
