Tamiya 28502 - Detailed 1/35 Fukuisaurus model information

This kit is a 1/35 scale snap-fit plastic assembly recreating the herbivorous dinosaur Fukuisaurus, presented within Tamiya's dinosaur model lineup.

Fukuisaurus is recorded from Early Cretaceous strata near present-day Fukui, Japan, and is dated at about 120 million years old. The animal is estimated at roughly 5.2 meters long, with a beak-like front jaw and cheek teeth adapted for plant feeding. Its limb proportions suggest the ability to move in both bipedal and quadrupedal poses, and it shared its ecosystem with predators such as Fukuiraptor.

The model reflects proportions and skin texture drawn from research carried out with the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum and academic consultants. Parts are produced for snap-fit assembly via Tamiya's CLIC LOC system, eliminating the need for glue on major joins. The kit provides sculpted skin detail, accurate tooth and mouth features, a separate display stand, two flat human silhouette figures for scale, a color leaflet and a paper scenery backdrop that can be painted.

Standard model paints and brushes are suitable; acrylics or enamels can be used. Fine brushes and washes help bring out the sculpted skin texture and mouth details.
The kit reproduces limb proportions that indicate both stances. While the snap-fit parts are designed for the supplied pose, careful assembly and finishing can emphasise a more erect or lowered stance.
Yes. Surface textures and anatomical details were developed with input from the Fukui Prefectural Dinosaur Museum and academic advisors to reflect available reference material.
The kit includes a paper scenery backdrop and a color leaflet; modellers can paint or extend these items to suit a diorama display.
