This kit is a 1/700 scale full-hull plastic representation of the Imperial Japanese Navy aircraft carrier Hiyo in her 1942 arrangement, produced as part of Fujimi's series of full-hull ships.
During the Pacific War Hiyo served with IJN carrier forces and underwent wartime modifications common to Japanese carriers of the time. The model reflects the ship's 1942 appearance and layout as indicated in the kit information.
Supplied as a full-hull assembly, the kit is suited for display on a base or incorporated into a diorama scene. Builders should expect to perform finishing tasks such as sanding seams, painting, and adding rigging to achieve an accurate result. For realistic deck equipment and aircraft, consult references or aftermarket detail sets.
Manufacture uses conventional injection-moulded plastic appropriate for 1/700 naval kits. The full-hull construction allows for unobstructed display of the ship's external form and supports a range of presentation choices from shelf mounts to scenic bases.
A faithful full-hull kit of the 1942 Hiyo intended for display-minded modellers and collectors who are prepared to carry out standard kit finishing.
