How do I use multiple shims to change spacing?

Stack shims to increase clearance in 0.1mm steps; secure each layer flat to avoid introducing play. Test fit after each addition to reach the desired tolerance.

Are these shims easy to trim or modify?

Stainless steel is fairly tough to cut. If trimming is required, use proper metalworking tools and deburr edges to maintain smooth operation.

Do they affect bearing play?

Yes. Adding or removing shims changes axial clearance and can tighten or loosen bearing engagement, so adjust incrementally and test rotation freely.

Can I reuse shims after removal?

If the shims remain flat and undamaged they can be reused. Inspect for scoring or bending before reinstalling to ensure consistent results.
