Product Details: 46mm Double Cardan Shafts

The Tamiya 51761 kit contains two 46mm drive shafts intended for double cardan joints and supplied in the ball bearing configuration to cut rotational losses in the driveline. These shafts are specified for the TRF421X chassis and may be fitted as direct replacements on TRF421X (Item 42391) or used to upgrade the standard TRF421 (Item 42384).

When installed, the ball bearing arrangement reduces speed loss through the joint under steering loads, helping to maintain consistent drive during cornering. For correct fitment on the TRF421 standard chassis, use Item 51762 Ball Bearing Set for Universal Shafts together with Item 51763 TRF421X Front Direct Cups (2pcs.) and Item 51764 TRF421X Gear Differential Joints (Ball Bearing Type) as listed in Tamiya service parts references.

Specifications

  • Item 46mm drive shafts for double cardan joints, qty 2
  • Material Ball bearing type
  • Model Number 51761
  • Compatibility TRF421 (Item 42384), TRF421X (Item 42391)

Compatibility Notes

  • TRF421X (Item 42391)

Use Tamiya 51761 shafts to replace worn double cardan components or to bring a TRF421 up to the TRF421X shaft specification, pairing with the complementary parts shown for full installation.

The kit supplies two 46mm double cardan drive shafts, delivered as a pair in ball bearing form.
They are a direct fit for TRF421X. To fit a TRF421 standard chassis you will need the additional bearing set and direct cups referenced in the parts list.
For TRF421 compatibility, add Item 51762, Item 51763, and Item 51764 so the universal shafts and differential joints have the required bearings and cups.
Regularly remove debris from bearing seals, inspect for pitting or play, and use light oil on bearing races; avoid heavy oils that attract grit.
