This compact pinion is made for 48 pitch gear systems found in many electric RC kits. The YOKPG4829 delivers consistent tooth geometry and high hardness to maintain reliable mesh under regular model loading.
Role and application: slip the pinion onto the motor shaft to change the overall gear ratio, tune acceleration versus top speed, and stabilise mesh behavior during drivetrain tuning. It replaces softer or worn pinions at the component level.
Fitment advice: fit to a clean motor shaft, ensure the set screw contacts a shaft flat if available, and use correct shimming to set backlash. Run a few low-throttle cycles with the servos and ESC to confirm engagement before finalising fasteners. A short bedding-in period under light load is recommended.
Material notes and tuning: the ultra-hard steel finish improves wear resistance in comparison to softer materials, but precise alignment with the spur gear is essential to prevent accelerated tooth wear. When you change tooth count to adjust ratio, re-verify mesh and motor timing if relevant.
