Pinion for Precision Tuning

The Yokomo YOKPG6429 arrives as a 64 pitch, 29T pinion aimed at R/C drivetrains where precise ratio changes are needed. It is compatible with standard 64 pitch gear systems and works as a direct replacement or upgrade when modifying gearing on electric R/C cars.

Fitting the pinion requires matching its bore to your motor shaft and securing it with the motor's existing clamp or set screw system; always verify shaft fit before locking it in. When installing, check the spur-to-pinion mesh and adjust the motor position or add shims so the teeth mesh evenly without binding.

From a tuning viewpoint, switching to this 29-tooth option will change the overall ratio and thus influence throttle response and top speed. Use gradual tooth-count changes and test runs to tune behaviour rather than making large single jumps.

After installation, routinely confirm the pinion remains tight, revalidate mesh after initial runs, and inspect both pinion and spur teeth for abnormal wear as part of standard R/C care.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
Measure your motor shaft diameter and confirm it matches the pinion bore. Also ensure your motor supports 64 pitch pinions before attempting to fit.
A 29T alters the gear ratio compared to other tooth counts; depending on your spur, it may favour acceleration over top speed or vice versa. Test changes incrementally to see the real effect on your setup.
Position the motor for even tooth contact, use shims if needed, and run the drivetrain by hand to confirm smooth engagement before powering up.
