Scale AE86 street drift shell details

This 1/10 scale body from Yokomo replicates the Toyota AE86 Trueno in a street-drift profile for RC on-road drift applications. It functions as a replacement or upgrade shell for common 1/10 on-road drift platforms and is useful for drivers assessing ride height and outer body aerodynamics during testing.

Delivered as a trim-to-fit polycarbonate-style shell, the item is intended to be cut and mounted to match standard 1/10 body post layouts. Its purpose is cosmetic authenticity and providing repeatable mounting points for setup validation; it will not change electronic or drivetrain parts.

During installation, line up trimming marks carefully and check wheel and suspension clearance at full lock and at full compression. Secure the shell with customary body clips and re-check stance after mounting to make sure nothing interferes with steering or travel.

The manufacturer does not list a material rating. Treat the shell as a trim-to-fit accessory and expect typical polycarbonate resilience; avoid hard impacts and consider reinforcement for heavy use.
Many hobbyists add internal strips or light bracing around vulnerable panels before painting. Any reinforcement should be applied without restricting suspension movement or body mounting points.
Use mild soap and water to remove dirt; avoid abrasive cleaners that can scratch plastic. Inspect trimmed edges regularly and touch up mounting holes if they become loose.
Correct polycarbonate paints designed for RC bodies will not significantly reduce toughness. Apply thin coats and allow full cure to avoid soft spots that could tear on impact.
