RS-501SS Solid Axle Upgrade from Yokomo

If you run RS1.0 or RS2.0 kit cars and want crisper handling, the Yokomo RS-501SS Aluminum Front Solid Axle Double-joint universal set is a straightforward upgrade. By removing differential action at the front, the axle stabilises steering inputs and improves traction on carpet and other high-grip layouts.

Tailored for High-Grip Layouts

The RS-501SS uses lightweight aluminium to reduce rotating mass versus conventional gear differentials. Less weight means faster initial acceleration and sharper response when you plant the throttle, while the solid axle helps maintain consistent wheel speed across the front end.

Double Joint Universals for Reduced Loss

Included double joint universals maintain smooth rotation and reduce drivetrain loss even without a diff. This spreads load more evenly across the drive train and helps protect components from uneven loading under power.

Specifications

  • Material: Aluminum
  • Compatibility: RSR-010, RSR-020, RSR-010-1

For club racers and hobbyists on high-traction surfaces, the Yokomo RS-501SS solid axle set tightens handling and improves corner exit acceleration.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
On low traction venues you may notice different behaviour; the solid axle is optimised for high-traction conditions and may feel less forgiving on loose surfaces.
Light lubrication of the universal joints can extend service life, but avoid excess oil that can attract dirt into bearings and joints.
Expect to recheck toe and caster and tweak throttle trim as the front-end dynamics change; small suspension adjustments can restore balance.
