Wheel hex adapters for track adjustment

These aluminium hex adapters serve as an RC-scale tuning part to change wheel track and clearance on compatible 1/8-1/10 scale rigs. The hex centreline measures 18.5mm from bottom to top, giving more distance between the wheel mounting face and axle reference than many stock hex heights.

Design notes from the supplier describe three tightening holes and a longer overall length to match common axle and pin dimensions, enabling builders to widen the wheelbase while maintaining secure wheel retention. The component is intended for fitment and geometric tuning on models with a matching hole pattern or the ability to accept the specified screw sizes.

Reported fit variances are: versus Thunder Tiger K-Rock G5 the adapter increases the height by 6.5mm over the original 12mm; versus Team Magic E6III it is 3.5mm higher than the original 15mm; and versus ARRMA NERO / FAZON it is 13mm higher than the original 5.5mm.

  • ARRMA NERO / FAZON (we use M4*3*15 screws to match with the screw holes lasered AR)

Use these adapters when you want a measured increase in track or need extra clearance for steering travel on crawling setups; double check hole spacing and hex height before you bolt them on.

Which fixings match each chassis?

The supplier specifies M4x3x15 screws for Thunder Tiger style holes and ARRMA; M4x2.5x15 screws are listed for Team Magic style hole patterns.

Will the taller hex affect wheel alignment?

Increasing hex height shifts wheel position outward and can change scrub and toe characteristics; recheck alignment and steering geometry after fitting.

Are any modifications needed to the hub?

If your hub accepts the adapter hole pattern and screw sizes, no hub machining is required; otherwise you may need to drill or use alternative screws to match spacing.

Does this change tyre clearance under the body?

Yes, the raised hex can affect tyre and body clearance. Check wheels and body mounts for rubbing before finalising the setup.
