Why Aluminium Beats Plastic

Aluminium link plates resist deformation and give more predictable handling on technical sections compared with the stock plastic parts. The CNC finish ensures each plate seats correctly, and the anodize helps fend off scuffs from rocks and debris so the parts last longer run after run.

Installation Notes for Builders

Installation is straightforward since the Axial AX31099 plates use the existing holes and screws from your AX10. Remove the factory plastic pieces, position the aluminium replacements, and secure the screws firmly to maintain alignment during hard crawling.

They are made specifically for the AX10 upper link locations. Other models may require different dimensions or adapters.
There is a small weight increase compared with plastic, but the stiffer link geometry typically improves stability rather than harming performance.
Using a mild threadlocker on metal-to-metal fasteners can help prevent loosening, but follow your usual maintenance routine and recheck screws after the first few runs.
