Track widening aluminium hex set for SCX10 II

This pair of aluminium wheel hex adapters increases the axle track by 23mm to improve sideways stability when crawling over rocks and uneven terrain. Built for AXIAL Racing SCX10 II platforms, the adapters are compatible with wheels that have a 5mm centre hole and fit 4mm threaded wheel shafts.

One face of each hex uses an O-ring seat to keep the fit tight, while the other side secures with a spring steel retaining ring, a compression spring, washers and a stainless screw. Inside each hex is a Delrin locating collar that prevents independent wheel rotation under load.

When setting up an SCX10 II for slow-speed crawling, these adapters increase stance without altering axle geometry, which helps maintain tyre contact and reduce body roll on technical obstacles.

Will these work with aftermarket wheels that have a 5mm hole?

Yes, any wheel with a 5mm centre hole can be mounted to these adapters provided the wheel bore is compatible with the Delrin collar seating.

Do I need special tools to install the hex adapters?

Basic hand tools are sufficient; a small socket or driver for the stainless screw and a pick or pliers to fit the O-ring and retaining ring will do the job.

Are there handling trade offs when increasing track by 23mm?

The wider track improves lateral grip and roll resistance for crawling, but may slightly alter tyre scrub on tight turns; no axle geometry changes are required.
