The 6061 T6 aluminium construction and three-dimensional cut give a neat, protective casing that stands up to trail impacts. An oil-fill port is included so you can top up lubricant in the field without dismantling the whole case.

Yes, the mount is intended to sit with the stock axle housing and associated hardware. Check clearances during assembly to be safe.
