This 20T hard-steel drive gear is supplied as a single pair and replaces softer factory gears on Axial SCX10 axles. The higher material hardness reduces wear when the rig is used for demanding crawling or heavy trail duties.
The component transmits torque from the motor pinion through the axle and into the spur assembly, making it a critical piece of the driveline. For scale crawlers and trail rigs, a hardened steel drive gear offers better resistance to wear under slow, high-torque conditions.
Fitting guidance: verify correct tooth engagement and backlash after installation, examine the pinion and spur for wear before reuse, and ensure the gear is fully seated on its shaft. Replace any bearings or hardware that show play before returning the model to service.
