This aftermarket gearbox belt drive from GPM is designed for Axial crawler platforms. It pairs 6061-T6 aluminium components with a rubber belt and friction discs to reduce gearbox noise and vibration compared with conventional metal-only drives, favoured for smoother trail running.
Note the belt arrangement reduces transmitted peak torque relative to direct metal gearing, so it is less suited to extremely high power builds if maximum load capacity is required. Confirm your motor shaft inner diameter is 3.175 prior to fitting, and be aware the large gear follows a common RC gear spline specification.
Basic installation steps: replace the original metal plate in the gearbox, insert the chosen friction disc into the pulley groove, centre the bearing, then reinstall the plate, anti-skid spring and nut. Place the two pulley gears to accept the belt and then fine tune spacing for proper tension. Ensure all set screws are tightened and the belt runs squarely.
