These replacement crawler tyres are intended for small-scale trail machines and focus on traction on rough, technical lines. The compound is a soft 25-degree butyl rubber chosen to improve bite, and a foam insert is provided to stabilise the sidewall and maintain tyre profile under load.
The tyres use butyl rubber rather than softer TPU/TPR blends, and include internal reinforcement to resist tearing during heavy articulation. The standard foam insert is sized to steady the tread without loosening the bead on common 1.0-inch rims.
Installation is straightforward: tyres are made to clamp onto narrow 1-inch wheel rims, with the wheel seat's long clamping tongue helping to secure the tyre. Longer fixing screws are often recommended to eliminate excess play and hold the assembly firmly.
Tuning advice: fit a firmer insert to minimise squirm on flat plates, or keep the supplied foam for extra traction on loose, technical trails. Switching from hard plastic wheels to these rubber, foam-backed tyres yields a noticeable traction improvement.
