This pair of stainless steel skid plates protects the lower sections of the front and rear gearboxes on Axial SCX6-style crawlers. They sit close beneath the gearbox to deflect stones, grit and wet trail hazards away from vulnerable housings.
Stainless steel was chosen for its resistance to surface corrosion and its harder contact face compared with common polymer shields. That toughness helps reduce ongoing abrasion and chipping from repeated impacts.
Installation is simple: each plate is profiled to the gearbox base and secures to the vehicle's existing fastenings, giving a neat, low-profile barrier that does not change suspension geometry or drivetrain alignment. These parts are protective add-ons, not replacement gearbox components.
Use these skid plates for sandy, rocky or muddy terrain where debris and moisture increase component wear, or when you want a hard-wearing base shield for regular practice sessions and scale runs.
