17-tooth steel pinion for Yeti and Yeti XL gearsets

This single-piece #45 steel pinion is produced for 32 pitch applications and sold as a 1pcs set for use on Axial Yeti and Yeti XL models. It replaces the motor-mounted pinion to alter the final gear ratio or to renew a worn gear.

Use the 17T option to favour quicker throttle response or when the original pinion shows wear. During replacement, confirm shaft fit, align the pinion with the spur gear for correct mesh, and check that bearings and gearbox spin freely. Do not force tight mesh; a small clearance is recommended and test by spinning with no load before driving.

Make sure your spur gear and motor shaft match 32 pitch specifications prior to fitting. This part is intended for RC hobby use only.

Is this pinion 32 pitch or 48 pitch?

It is manufactured for 32 pitch gear systems, not for 48 pitch setups.

Can I use it to increase top speed?

To increase top speed you would normally fit a larger pinion or change the spur. This 17T moves the balance toward acceleration compared with higher tooth counts.

Any quick installation checks?

After fitting, verify grub screw torque, check for side load on the motor shaft, and confirm smooth free-spin of the drivetrain before applying full throttle.
