Does this require any chassis modifications?

No chassis modification is normally required; the link is designed to attach to the stock lower mounting points on the Yeti XL.

Will this affect suspension travel?

Aluminium increases stiffness so you may notice slightly less compliant articulation under light loads, while alignment under heavy loads will be improved.

Are bearings or bushings needed?

Reuse existing inserts if they fit; replace worn bushings or bearings during the swap to ensure smooth operation and correct geometry.
