Yeti XL aluminium steering post

This aftermarket steering post is an RC-scale replacement part made by GPM for use with the Axial Racing Yeti XL platform, supplied as a 1 pr set. Machined from aluminium, it offers a stronger mounting point than common plastic posts while preserving model-scale linkage spacing.

The part fits into the Yeti XL steering assembly to act as the pivot and mounting location for servo linkages and the drag link. It is intended to be a direct replacement with mounting holes and bearing interfaces matching AX31035 stock points, which keeps existing steering geometry intact.

When tuning, the aluminium post reduces flex around the steering pivot and can improve steering repeatability over technical terrain when combined with correct link lengths and wheel alignment checks. Always confirm fastener torque and endplay after installation and test for bump steer before trail use.

Is bearing size changed with this upgrade?

No changes to standard bearing interfaces are expected; the post is sized to match AX31035 mounting points, but verify your chassis bearings before assembly.

Should I re-shim after fitting the aluminium post?

Check steering endplay and re-shim if necessary to remove excess side play. Proper endplay ensures consistent steering and reduces premature wear.

Will this affect servo load?

A stiffer pivot can slightly change load on the servo under heavy steering input; verify your servo can handle the increased resistance during setup.
