Front big-bore spring made for high-grip carpet and turf

Yokomo designed this front shock spring for RC use on high-traction carpet and artificial turf. The larger bore and shortened overall length let you run a lower ride height while maintaining controlled rebound, which helps when landing from jumps and minimises the tendency to grab on sticky surfaces.

In tuning terms, the spring adjusts suspension feel without changing the shock body or mounts. You will notice stronger midstroke resistance compared with standard short springs, keeping the vehicle flatter through fast corners on artificial turf. Fitting is the same as other front coils: slide it onto the shock shaft, set preload, then check oil and piston choices to match the new response.

Use the YAS-650A when your setup needs faster rebound control on grippy tracks and you want a more settled chassis at a slightly lower ride height.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
The increased midstroke support slows rebound slightly and reduces forward pitching on impact, resulting in smoother, more predictable landings on carpet and turf.
You might experiment with piston and oil combinations to refine damping, since the spring offers stronger midstroke support that alters overall shock feel.
This spring is tuned for high-traction surfaces; on low-grip layouts you may find it too firm in midstroke, so standard shorter springs are usually a better choice.
