Durable aluminium shaft for drift drivetrains

The SD-644SA from Yokomo is a single aluminium main drive shaft intended as a replacement part for the Drift Package / Drift Racer family. It is supplied to restore drivetrain function on compatible DP and MRTC chassis after wear or damage.

In service the shaft carries torque from the gearbox output to the final drive. During installation verify spline alignment, check bearing seating, and hand-rotate the assembly to ensure free movement before running the model. Use the original retention hardware where suitable and avoid forcing components into position.

The shaft is intended for the models listed. Confirm the spline count and retention method on the target variant to ensure compatibility before swapping parts between different variants.
Use the correct sized drivers for retaining screws or clips and tighten to the original assembly specification where known. Avoid over-torquing small fasteners which can strip threads or deform parts.
Inspect the shaft regularly for play, spline wear, and bearing seating after heavy runs or impacts. Schedule checks more frequently if you run in wet or abrasive conditions.
