Overview: DP48 86T Spur

This RC spur gear is made for DP48 drive configurations and carries the Yokomo model number YOKSG-A4886 with 86 teeth. It is intended as a replacement for the primary spur within DP48-style geartrains used on 1/10 scale on-road cars where choice of spur affects overall gearing.

Compatibility and fit: because the name specifies DP48, expect a DP48-type gearbox interface and pinion engagement. Check centre height, axle clearance and pinion sizing on your chassis before final installation to ensure correct mesh and fit.

Installation notes: mount the spur to the diff or carrier per your chassis instructions, set an initial moderate mesh, then fine-tune with shims or motor mount adjustments to prevent binding. Use the proper hex tool for the set screws and verify mesh after a short test run.

Tuning role: switching to an 86-tooth spur increases mechanical advantage while reducing peak speed, so choose this spur when acceleration or torque is the priority for track conditions. Always verify the pinion pairing to achieve your desired ratio.

Maintenance: check for chipped or scalloped teeth, remove accumulated debris after use, and confirm bearings and diff elements spin freely to avoid accelerated wear to the spur.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
It is intended for DP48-style gearboxes, but you should confirm centre height and pinion interface on your chassis; minor shimming is sometimes needed for perfect alignment.
Begin with a neutral, moderate mesh and tighten the set screws. After a brief run, re-check for smooth rotation and add or remove shims or adjust the motor mount to eliminate binding.
