SSG Front Tower: DP-DPM Fitment Notes

The Yokomo SD-017MS SSG front shock tower is engineered for Drift Package DPM configurations, providing the primary mounting point for the front shocks and linking into the DP-series front end.

Primary fitment is for DP-DPM and DP-DPMS chassis where the SD-017MS replaces the chassis' factory front shock plate. The SSG identifier is part of the model name and marks this particular tower version in Yokomo's drift selection.

Installation approach: remove the original tower, move over the shocks and tie rods, then secure the replacement using the stock mounting points and screws. After fitting, confirm suspension travel and alignment and run incremental tests to ensure there is no binding.

Tuning notes: this tower establishes the front shock mounting reference and impacts shock angle, baseline ride height, and the front-end response during drift transitions. It is useful when testing different shock lengths, spring rates, and front roll characteristics without altering the remainder of the chassis.

Compatibility

  • DP-DPM
  • DP-DPMS
Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
By locating the shock mounting points differently, the SD-017MS can alter effective shock angle and leverage, which will change roll response and steering feel during drifts.
Yes. The tower lists both DP-DPM and DP-DPMS among compatible chassis and installs into those families using the existing mounting pattern.
After installation, start with conservative shock lengths and spring rates, then adjust incrementally while checking steering response and drift transitions to dial in balance.
