The Yokomo YS-8DS2 fits the MS family and brings a softer diaphragm to the shock assembly for improved grip on low-traction layouts. This subtle change helps stabilise slides and makes balance adjustments more predictable, useful for both club drifting and practice sessions. It is compatible with MSR-010 chassis and supports targeted damping tweaks.

Why a Softer Diaphragm Helps Drifting

A softer diaphragm reduces sharp rebound spikes, keeping tyres planted during corner exits and mid-slide corrections. That steadier tyre contact aids smoother throttle modulation and cleaner drift lines.

Can I use the YS-8DS2 on vintage MS chassis?

It is designed for MS series geometry, so it should fit many MS variants. Older chassis may need a quick fit check to confirm shock spacing and seals match.

Will a soft diaphragm make my car more prone to roll?

Not inherently, but the increased traction can change weight transfer characteristics. You may want to tweak anti-roll or spring rates if you notice different body roll behaviour.

Is special oil required when fitting this diaphragm?

No special oil is required. Use your preferred damper oil and tune incrementally; softer diaphragms often work well with standard oil weights used for drift settings.

Does installation need professional tools?

Basic shock servicing tools are enough. Remove the shock cap, swap the diaphragm, and reassemble while checking seals and alignment.
