Shell retainer upgrade

This aluminum body shell lock provides a compact, scale-friendly securing point for the vehicle body. Machined from 6061 T6 aluminum, the parts offer a good strength-to-weight balance to maintain shell alignment under load and minimise distortion at the mount.

The set ships with the locking hardware and one stainless steel round head screw for the body attachment, acting as a replacement fastener set for the shell area. A firmer shell mount helps keep aerodynamic behaviour and clearances stable while running hard lines or off-road.

Fitting tips: mount the pieces to the existing shell holes using the supplied screw and common hand tools. Do not overtighten; adjust alignment before final torque to prevent shell stress.

How does this improve body behaviour?

By stiffening the attachment point, the lock reduces shell movement that can change airflow and cause rubbing or interference during jumps and high-speed sections.

Is the 6061 T6 material corrosion resistant?

Aluminum 6061 T6 resists corrosion in normal hobby use; the kit includes a stainless screw to reduce the chance of rust at the mounting point.

Will modifications be needed to my body shell?

No major body modification is required. The parts are designed to align with factory shell holes, but check fit and adjust hole position slightly if needed before final tightening.
