Performance Notes for Free Flight Props

This APC AP10545 propeller is supplied as a 10.5x4.5 RC replacement prop for free flight model aircraft. The 10.5x4.5 label defines nominal diameter and pitch to help match motor and airframe characteristics on small electric free flight designs. It is intended for model use only and not for full-size applications.

For hub-and-nut mounting systems: remove the old prop and nut, slide the AP10545 onto the shaft so it seats correctly, then secure with the proper nut or spinner parts for your airframe. Follow the airframe maker's guidance on mounting hardware and torque to avoid looseness in flight.

Prior to flying, perform a static balance. Use a balancing tool and correct any heavy blade by light sanding or trimming at the hub to minimize vibration. A well balanced propeler reduces stress on bearings and preserves smooth trim and heading stability.

Regarding tuning: a 10.5x4.5 tends to balance climb rate with cruise efficiency for electric free flight or motor-assisted gliders. Altering diameter or pitch changes acceleration and top speed as well as the electrical load; adjust only one factor at a time and keep an eye on motor temperature and current draw.
