Body mount reinforcement overview

The Yokomo BD-016FS is designed to minimise slack at the front body posts on BD7 and BD5 based cars, improving stability when the body is subjected to vibration or aerodynamic loads. This helps deliver more repeatable handling during precision on-road setup work.

Built around a carbon main post and supplied aluminum collars, the unit integrates into the existing body post stack and uses your standard mounting hardware. It does not alter the original post geometry but provides a firmer interface to reduce unwanted movement between body and chassis.

Fitting is simple: remove the stock post, pass the BD-016FS through the shell, set collar positions to achieve the desired clamp, and secure with your normal nuts or clips. Always confirm full steering clearance and re-check body mount height after the first run.

By firming the body post interface, the BD-016FS reduces micro movement that can accelerate wear on body posts and mounting hardware. It does not change structural chassis strength but lowers vibration transfer.
The carbon main post is stiff and lightweight; while robust for normal on-road use, it should be checked after heavy impacts. Replace if any cracks or damage are visible.
The collars are aluminum, which is corrosion resistant in typical hobby environments. If you operate in wet or salty conditions, dry and inspect components regularly.
