Compact nylon-gear servo for lightweight aircraft

The Futaba S3115 is a small, precision servo built for RC electric models where saving weight and space is essential. Its nylon gear train reduces mass while providing controlled surface movement suitable for tiny control surfaces and cyclic inputs on micro rotorcraft. Fit the unit into the recommended servo bay, attach the correct horn for your linkage, and lead to the receiver as advised.

Be aware of the servo's electrical and mechanical limits. Intended for battery-powered electric models, the S3115 can draw higher current during peak movement; confirm your battery and BEC/ESC capacity. It is not rated for heavy-duty torque applications and will have reduced lifespan if overloaded or overvolted.

How durable are the nylon gears in the S3115?

Nylon gears are lightweight and quiet but are less tolerant of sustained high torque than metal gears. Avoid prolonged heavy loads and check for wear after rough landings.

Will frequent power cycling harm the S3115?

Normal power cycling does not harm the servo, but ensure voltage remains within recommended limits and avoid connecting to a power source that can spike above specified voltage.

What horns come with the servo and which is preinstalled?
