Dot 6 Oil for Fine Low-Speed Shear Tuning

The Yokomo YOKCSDOT6 is a silicone-based gear differential fluid marked Dot 6 for use in RC-scale gear differentials. Its formulation modifies low-speed shear and internal slip so drivers can adjust how the car responds during throttle transitions and cornering without altering mechanical components.

Applied in setup, Dot 6 replaces the existing differential fluid to change torque transfer speed between outputs. Compared with lighter grades it gives more resistance to rapid internal movement, which can reduce inside-wheel spin and alter entry and exit behaviour through turns.

Service advice: perform routine diff service procedures when changing oil, remove any debris from the housing, and refill to the previous level. Introduce changes gradually and log each setting so you can backtrack if the handling moves away from your target. Intended for RC-scale use only.
