This aluminium gear box cover is an aftermarket replacement designed for the gearcases used on Tamiya DT02, DT03, DT04 and Hornet EVO platforms. It replaces the molded plastic lid with a more rigid panel to improve mounting stability and clean up the appearance of the model.
Fitting is simple when the vehicle retains the original cover: take off the plastic panel, line up the aluminium unit with the original mounting bosses, and fasten using the model's existing hardware. Always check gear mesh and shaft alignment after installation to prevent premature wear. The part is supplied in a black anodised finish and suits the standard gearbox arrangement of the listed Tamiya models.
As a tuning aid, the cover helps keep consistent alignment during spur changes, bearing upgrades, or regular service intervals where a firmer panel is beneficial. The item is sold as a cosmetic/structural upgrade and does not include any electronic or drivetrain parts.
