Aluminium transmission shell for R1 builds

This aluminium transmission shell is made for use with Gmade R1 platforms and Saw Back editions. It replaces the standard plastic housing with a metal unit to help stabilise the chassis and keep drivetrain components correctly aligned in 1/10 rock buggies.

Its role is functional rather than cosmetic: the housing interfaces at the gearbox zone of the R1 family and is suited where a more rigid mounting point is needed. During installation verify the position of the gearbox mounts and confirm screw lengths and bearing seating to ensure smooth operation.

Compatible Models

  • R1
  • Saw Back

Fit this aluminium housing when you need a tougher, authentic-looking unit for 1/10 R1-series rock buggies; always trial-fit and recheck fastener torque after first runs.

Compatibility covers the R1 and Saw Back lines, but confirm on your specific chassis version since mount locations can vary between revisions.
In most cases seals and fasteners are reused, however check screw length and seal compression during assembly to prevent leaks or distortion.
The metal housing adds mass low in the chassis and can slightly alter balance; drivers should test handling and adjust suspension if needed.
Keep mounting faces clean, check for thread wear, and re-torque after dust or water exposure to maintain fitment.
