Widened hex hubs for steady technical crawling

This pair of aluminium wheel hex adapters increases stance by 23mm to improve side-to-side stability on scale crawlers. They are designed to accept wheels with a 4mm centre hole and to clamp onto wheel shafts with a 4mm threaded section, allowing one hex set to be used across compatible wheels and axles.

The construction uses an O-ring on one side and a spring-steel retaining ring with washers plus a stainless steel screw on the opposite side to secure the assembly. A Delrin inner collar sits inside the hex to maintain seating and minimise wheel rotation relative to the hex during traction, which is helpful on tight, technical sections.

These adapters are a neutral stance adjustment for tuning handling and balance; verify the shaft and wheel bore sizes before fitting. After heavy sessions check retaining components and screws to maintain safe retention.
