Soft compound 1/12 GT500 belted tyre

The Yokomo YOKGT-39AS is a 1/12-scale belted radial rubber tyre offered in a soft compound for use on GT500 on-road chassis. The belted radial construction helps the tread retain shape during high cornering loads while the softer compound improves traction on smooth track surfaces.

This tyre is aimed at GT500 1/12 on-road wheel assemblies and matches standard 1/12 rim dimensions common in touring and GT categories. Confirm rim profile and internal diameter match the tyre before mount to ensure secure bead seating.

Mounting follows typical model car practice: fit the tyre onto the rim, secure with appropriate tyre glue for foam-backed or plain rims, then balance to aid high-speed stability. In setup, the increased front bite and mid-corner grip from the soft compound may require tweaks to camber, toe and suspension to keep the handling neutral.

Choose this tyre when you need added mechanical traction for corner exits or when track conditions favor softer rubber; note that wear will be higher compared with harder compounds.

Remark :
Due to limited stock availability, please notice that some Yokomo items may have to order from the factory and the ready time is around 4-6 weeks. Customer purchases the item is assumed to accept the waiting time which allows us to order directly from the manufacturer if the item is out of our warehouse.
They are specified for GT500 1/12 fitment but can be used on alternative 1/12 rims if the rim profile and inner diameter are compatible; always check measurements first.
Stretch the bead over the rim carefully to avoid distortion, use a thin layer of tyre glue for a reliable bond, and let the glue fully cure prior to balancing or run-in.
Soft compounds offer better grip but wear faster than harder compounds; expect shorter service life under aggressive driving and plan tyre rotation or replacement accordingly.
