The Tamiya 41079 Handy Starter is designed to reduce the hassle of starting glow engine RC cars, letting you get back to tuning or track time quickly. It works with multiple driven gear units so starting can be done without lifting the body shell.

Protection Features and Compatibility

Compatible with ITEM 41076 Driven Gear Unit A, ITEM 41077 Driven Gear Unit B and ITEM 41080 Driven Gear Unit C, the starter suits a variety of glow engines. It incorporates a FET switch and a built-in safety circuit to guard against overload and provide consistent starting power.

Installation Notes for On-Body Starts

Using the Handy Starter is straightforward: insert the starter drive shaft into the driven gear unit and press the button. Prepare holes in the body shell for the glow plug heater and starter shaft to allow starting without removing the shell.

Required Power Accessories

This starter needs a 7.2V battery plus a glow plug heater, which are sold separately. Both items are essential for supplying the power and heat needed to light the engine reliably.
