This 1/12 scale plastic kit recreates the 1991 Honda XLR250R MD22 in a motard custom style and is part of Hasegawa's 1/12 motorcycle range.
The XLR250R (MD22) was a lightweight dual-purpose bike that offered a sensible compromise between tarmac and trail riding. Built on a compact single-cylinder four-stroke layout, it became a practical option for everyday riders. The bike's upright riding position and simple chassis made it a popular base for motard conversions that favour road tyres and stronger braking setups.
The kit focuses on reproducing the XLR250R exterior, emphasising frame contours and bodywork seen on motard conversions. Parts come as injection-moulded plastic ready for builder assembly and finishing. Surface treatment reflects items visible on a finished model such as frame profiles, fuel tank lines, seat shapes and simplified suspension and exhaust components that suit painting and light weathering. The kit is aimed at display and custom styling rather than internal mechanical replication.
A tidy 1/12 motard subject that gives priority to silhouette and display impact, perfect for shelf presentation or compact diorama scenes.
