Hasegawa 52140 1/72 SP340 J35J Draken Espada Ace Combat: Compact Ace Combat Replica

The Hasegawa 52140 brings the J35J Draken from Ace Combat into 1/72 scale with crisp moulding and accurate outlines. This kit is suited to hobbyists who want a realistic miniature of the Draken with recognisable features like the double-delta wing.

Origins and Fidelity

Built originally by Saab, the real J35J Draken was known for its distinctive wing form and strong aerodynamic performance. This model mirrors those traits at scale, with panels and surfaces arranged to reflect the aircrafts profile faithfully.

Assembly Experience and Finishing Tips

Hasegawa provides parts that fit well, though careful cleanup and alignment improve the final look. The kit makes a neat display once painted and decaled, and it fits well into mixed-era aircraft collections or gaming displays inspired by Ace Combat.

Order received in excellent condition. Communication around COVID-related shipping issues was very good & reassuring.
Basic modelling tools are sufficient: sprue cutters, hobby knife, fine files and sandpaper. You will also need plastic cement, paints and brushes or an airbrush for finishing.
The kit includes a basic cockpit tub and instrument detail suitable for 1/72 scale. Modellers seeking extra realism can add aftermarket seats or decals for instruments.
