High Grade 1/144: prototype silhouette and parts

This Gunpla kit is produced in the High Grade 1/144 scale and depicts an early Universal Century mobile suit prototype. It emphasizes the prototype's functional geometry and mechanical silhouette while keeping construction aligned with HG assembly practices.

Build level and suggested tools

Build difficulty: normal. Basic modelling tools—side cutters, hobby knife, and sanding sticks—cover typical needs for part removal and seam finishing.

Finishing workflow recommendations

Optional steps include smoothing seams, accent panel lines, and applying selective top coats to change surface finish. These are stylistic choices and not required to complete the model.

Specifications

  • Scale: 1/144
  • Grade: HG
  • Build Level: normal

Emphasis is placed on tidy part separation and compact articulation to capture the look of an early Universal Century prototype within the HG 1/144 format.

Key joints such as the shoulders, hips and double-jointed limbs provide a good range for action poses, consistent with modern HG joint design.
Out of the box, color-separated parts offer a presentable finish; however, painting and panel lining will enhance realism and detail for display builds.
Seam work is optional. Builders aiming for a cleaner, display-level result often fill and sand seam lines before painting.
Armor sections are built from multiple moulded pieces to allow straightforward assembly and better color separation without heavy painting.
Precision nippers and fine sanding sticks or microfiles help achieve clean edges and tight seam joins quickly and accurately.
