This 1/12 scale plastic model reproduces the 2003 Honda Team Pons RC211V as a non-running display model, emphasising accurate exterior detail and assembly fidelity.
Honda developed the RC211V as a multi-cylinder four-stroke prototype to replace two-stroke race machinery in the early 2000s. The bike combined a compact V5 engine with advanced chassis components, including a unit pro-link rear suspension. Team Pons machines for 2003 ran modified bodywork and rider-specific fittings to match each rider's setup and aerodynamic changes of that season.
The kit models the altered tank cover and seat cowl used by Team Pons, along with the bike's body contours and mechanical layout. Notable external parts such as the fuel tank silhouette, upper cowl ram air intake, enlarged rear intake areas, and the exhaust routing are represented in the mouldings. The assembly sequence is arranged to reflect engine, frame, and suspension installation for straightforward construction.
Build highlights include metal-plated frame and swingarm components for visual authenticity, separate upper and seat cowl panels secured with small screws, and decal sheets for the two team liveries. Engine cases and visible drivetrain housings are supplied as separate detail pieces to aid realistic surface finishing after painting.
This is a finely detailed static kit aimed at builders wanting a faithful Team Pons RC211V show model.
