The BJ054/BE ball ends are intended as aftermarket replacement parts for the front upper arm on HPI Baja vehicles. Each unit pairs a tough nylon outer socket with a hardened steel ball to produce a smooth articulation point between the alloy arm and steering linkages.
These scale accessories are aimed at durability and repeatable motion rather than modifying suspension geometry. Replace worn factory ball ends or fit them after servicing to recover crisp steering feel and dependable suspension travel.
Fitting is simple: remove the old ball end, fit the nylon housing onto the mating post and make sure the steel ball turns freely inside the socket. Once installed, check the joint for unwanted binding or axial play and monitor again after the first few runs for correct seating.
Tuning advice: nylon sockets typically move more smoothly than fragile plastics, and steel balls resist wear. If lateral play appears at the joint, swap the ball end rather than tightening linkages, since added preload can introduce binding and compromise suspension action.
