This aluminium fuel tank protection case is made to suit the HPI Savage range of nitro trucks and buggies. The cover sits around the tank to absorb impacts from flips, rocks and chassis contact, preserving the plastic tank and its mounting points without interfering with fuel plumbing or reducing tank capacity.
The part is supplied as a single structural cover and is intended to bolt in using the existing tank fasteners and chassis attachment points. Fitting commonly requires the body shell to be removed and the original hex screws to be reused; additional brackets are not required.
When you are setting up the truck, treat this as protective kit only. It enhances durability and impact resistance but does not alter suspension geometry, raise the centre of gravity in any meaningful way for usual tuning, or affect fuel delivery.
