Aluminium gearbox brace focused on Savage durability

This alloy front and rear gear box brace is an aftermarket component designed for the HPI Savage range to add structural support around the gearbox areas. Constructed from aluminium alloy and anodised purple, it secures to the Savage front and rear gearbox mounts to create a more rigid foundation for drivetrain parts.

The brace reduces repeated flexing at gearbox mounting points, helping to prevent long-term deformation and wear under sustained stress. As an upgrade to the stock part the unit supports a more durable drivetrain layout during rough terrain running.

Installation involves accessing the Savage front and rear gearbox mounts and using standard tools to remove and refit the original brace. Confirm the mounting pattern on your Savage model before fitting to ensure correct alignment.

Specifications

  • Item: Alloy Front and Rear Gear Box Brace
  • Material: Aluminium alloy
  • Model Number: JR-CHP-SAV-011
  • Compatibility: for HPI Savage Series
  • Color: Purple
The purple finish is an anodised aluminium surface which offers resistance to corrosion compared with bare metal. Regular cleaning after wet runs will help preserve the finish and prevent grit from wearing the surface.
By stiffening the gearbox mounting area, the brace distributes loads more evenly and can reduce localized metal fatigue over time, especially during aggressive off-road use.
The anodised layer adds surface hardness and helps resist scratches, but heavy impacts can still mar the finish. Replace or touch up as needed to maintain appearance and protection.
Routine inspection for loose fasteners and cleaning of dirt build-up is sufficient. Re-torque mounting screws after initial runs to ensure secure seating.
