Precision P240 tool for tyre finishing

This HUDY 102593 sanding drum is built for RC-scale tyre finishing with a truer. The P240 ultra-fine grit is aimed at removing faint burrs and evening out tread imperfections to improve contact consistency on model tyres.

To install, slide the drum onto the truer's mandrel or a compatible sanding shaft, clamp it in the chuck and check that it runs true. Use low rotational speed and gentle, steady pressure; frequent inspections prevent excess material removal. The product is supplied as a single drum unit for hobby truer systems.

When dialling in tyre behaviour, use the P240 as the final pass after coarser abrasives to polish the profile and eliminate small defects that can change tyre feedback on track. It is intended for scale RC tyre care only.

Is P240 the right grit to finish with?

Yes. Use P240 as the finishing grit after removing major defects with coarser papers. It refines the tread without aggressive material removal when used carefully.

How should I fit the drum to my truer?

Place the drum on the mandrel or compatible shaft, tighten the chuck evenly, and check concentricity by spinning slowly before applying it to a tyre. Proper seating avoids vibration and uneven cuts.
