This Italeri 1/72 Stirling Mk.IV represents the bomber adapted for airborne support, giving modellers an accurate kit that showcases the aircrafts towing role. The build highlights how the Stirling was converted to carry troops and tow large gliders such as the Horsa.
The Mk.IV variant played a part in major airborne operations like the Normandy invasion and Operation Market Garden. Its robust airframe and four Bristol Hercules engines allowed it to carry out paratrooper drops and tow gliders after removing certain defensive turrets to improve towing clearance.
Made from all-new moulds, this Italeri kit gives improved surface detail and fit. It includes a photo-etched fret, decals for four marking options, and a full colour assembly guide to aid accurate painting and construction.
