The Italeri 1417S captures the HSS-1 Seabat, a Sikorsky design from the mid-1950s that served prominently in anti-submarine roles. This 1/72 assembly kit is aimed at hobbyists who enjoy accurate cockpit and exterior detail on naval aircraft models.
Historically, the HSS-1 Seabat carried anti-submarine ordnance such as depth charges and torpedoes and was driven by a Wright R-1820 Cyclone piston engine with top speeds near 200 km/h. The kit ships with a super decal sheet for three different versions, allowing a variety of finished looks.
