The North American F-51D Mustang earned its reputation across two major conflicts, first as the P-51 during World War II and later adapted for ground attack in Korea. Powered by the Packard V12, the licensed Rolls-Royce Merlin, the Mustang achieved high top speeds near 700 km/h. The F-51D was outfitted with six 0.5 M2 Browning machine guns and proved versatile from escort missions to close air support in the Korean theatre.
This Italeri 1/72 kit captures the Mustang's silhouette and surface detail in a small footprint. Parts are arranged for straightforward assembly, producing a neat finished model that fits well in a collection or on a display plinth alongside other Korean War subjects.
